This warm and cozy,  rustic, vintage cabin is reminiscent of simpler times and tastefully furnished with Vintage Deer Hunting touches!  Our family owned camp aims to provide the best elements of country lodging with cabins featuring mini-kitchens, Wi-fi a community fire-pit, horse shoes and lots of space for your snowmobiles, ATV’s and other sporting equipment. 

The weather-beaten walls of our 70 year old cabins are overflowing with memories that induce an atmosphere of northern Michigan nostalgia to those who can relax and trade the pressures of the fast modern world for a few nights of simple, up-north hospitality. 

This one room cabin sleeps 2 on a twin size beds. The small table is perfect for writing, playing a leisurely game of solitaire or relaxing with a cup of coffee while enjoying a view of the Cadillac countryside. The 32″ Roku TV includes Netflix.   The mini kitchen comes complete with bar-size sink, microwave, counter high refrigerator, and an electric percolator.

CLEANING & DISINFECTING: 

We at Mackinaw Timbers have always taken cleaning very seriously. Our normal routine is to wash all bedding, including comforters, blankets, sheets, towels and rugs. We also keep protectors on our mattresses and pillows, which are disinfected between guests. Now, we are extra careful not to shake any linens as we remove them from the cabin.  Additionally, we are spraying all linens with disinfectant before removing them.  All surfaces, including remotes, doorknobs, light switches and countertops are cleaned and disinfected with a new disposable wipe;  one for each separate surface. Between guests, we disinfect curtains as well. A new development is the use of UV Disinfect Light that will be placed in each cabin after all cleaning has been done, with same day turn arounds, for that next level of protection for our guests.  Finally, no team member will be on-site if they have any symptoms of Covid-19 or any other illness- be it fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat etc.  You can rest assured that we have always looked out for our guests, cleaning crew, site team and family and continue to do so.

Our cabins are a cross between a rustic sporting cabin from the “road-side motel era” and a simple vintage boutique get-away.

 

Outside: Large grassy areas in the back and center of the property, picnic areas with tables and charcoal grills located at or near each cabin. Community Fire pit with log seating (firewood available onsite for small charge). Parking at the back of the property for your snowmobiles, boats, ORV’s or other sports equipment.

 

Snow Removal: Our grounds-keeper provides snow removal that clears the driveway, parking area and walkway to the cabin entry. Snow removal is triggered after any event causing 4″ or more of accumulation since last removal. There may be occasions where there are a few inches of snow on the driveway and walkway and can get icy.   A snow shovel and salt are available in the open garage.  Please be careful.

 

Must Know

Occupancy:  Due to fire codes and cabin size, occupancy limits are strictly enforced, additional guests are not allowed.  If more guests are found in your cabin  after 11 pm, a $100 charge will be assessed to your credit card, your guest will be required to leave (if a vacant cabin is available the extra guest may be able to reserve, pay and occupy that cabin) and you may be asked to leave with no refund.

 

Guest Access: Access is by electronic keypad. You will receive a text with the code and directions. We are in and out and always available by preferably text or email or phone. John our grounds keeper is in & out often as well, making sure everything is fine.  You may also see our family or our carpenter working on our other cabins or projects.

 

Inclement weather can occasionally result in power outages.

  • Smart TV with Netflix included plus ability to log into your Hulu, Amazon and other accounts.  Our WiFi can take several seconds to buffer Netflix but otherwise works well.

UPFRONT AND HONEST

  • Old restored windows and doors which can be drafty, especially the floors which results in uneven heat.
  • We’re in a rural area and the Internet isn’t perfect but is very reliable, it may just need an extra few seconds to load Netflix
  • Workers on-site working on other cabins at times
  • Located on busy street
  • Cabins are small, cozy and a bit crowded
  • Water heater is small so short showers are a must
  • We are in the country next to corn fields so there may be dust and a cob-web or two, our site people check daily but one strong gust of wind or Charlotte may decide to spin a web . . .

Your paid reservations confirms this Waiver of Liability:

Waiver of Liability: I (we) hereby voluntarily accept all risk of personal injury, death and property damage (including personal property) to Mackinaw Timbers Cabins LLC, our members, or anyone on the Premises with our permission, which injury or damage results from our use of the Premises. Furthermore, I (we) agree that I (we) will not make a claim against or sue Mackinaw Timbers Cabins LLC,  its owners or employees, contractors or related entities, for any bodily injury, death, or property damage. I (we) understand that this is a release of Owner and agents from any and all liability with respect to any claims brought by invitees for any damage or injury.

Your cabin also has a Guidebook, which you are expected to follow the rules and policies noted in this guidebook. 

Your cabin allows occupancy of 2 people, if more guests are found in your cabin  after 11 pm, a $100 charge will be assessed to your credit card, your guest will be required to leave (if a vacant cabin is available they may be able to reserve, pay and occupy that cabin) and you maybe be asked to leave with no refund

Your cabin does not allow pets, if a pet is found at your cabin a $100 – $300 charge will be assessed to your credit card and you will be asked to leave with no  refund.  If the pet friendly cabin is vacant you may be given the option to move to that cabin.
